If anxiety or fear keeps you from getting the dental work you need completed, you are in good company. More than 10% of Americans
avoid needed dental treatment due to anxiety or fear about the procedure. However, there is no longer any need to postpone attending to your
dental health due to negative past experiences. At our office, we offer sedation (sleep) dentistry. So whether you need a lot of work
done, just want to take the edge off, or just don't want to remember that you even went to the dentist, sedation dentistry is for you.
Beyond just providing sedation dentistry, our team understands your unique needs. We will review your dental history, and learn more about
whatever traumatic event may have shaped your fear of the dentist's office. We then create a suitable treatment plan that will allow you to complete
your dental care, often in one comprehensive visit, with an optimal state of relaxation. At our office, we care for the whole person, not
just a person's teeth.
While sedation dentistry is a rising trend, not all Nashville dentists offer IV sedation. IV sedation is very different from the oral
sedation you may here about from other dentists. While we do offer oral sedation in our office, IV sedation is a much deeper state of
relaxation, and it is the only way to eliminate memory of the procedure. Furthermore, IV sedation is much safer because we have a greater control
of the sedation itself. Dr. Hancock has extensive training in sedation dentistry, having completed a one year residency program. Many of
today's dentists complete a weekend course. Rest assured, at our office you are in the most capable hands.
- Complete relaxation
- Minimal to NO memory of treatment
- Complete ALL treatment in one visit
- No disturbing sounds
- Best sleep you've had in years
Our office offers both IV sedation and oral sedation. IV sedation, otherwise known as "Conscious Sedation" or "Twilight
Sedation," is achieved by administering medications through a thin plastic tube. Medications are administered in small increments to
help you achieve a state of complete relaxation. This allows Dr. Hancock to complete your dental treatment while your asleep. When
you awake from your sedation you will likely have no memory of the procedure.
